Evaluation of preliminary task

Filming
After completing a detailed story board,we were to find a previously agreed location and begin filming. After organizing the room, props and setting as we wanted it we started filming. Because we had the story board we knew what footage we needed to get. This saved us a lot of time and meant we didn't end up getting any unnecessary footage. We initially had the problem of not getting the characters in the camera frame, but after reshooting the scene we were able to over come this obstacle with great ease.
By using actors from our group we were also able to avoid using other actors who had the potential to mess about and slow down the filming. Unfortunately we then lost the use of our location, and realized that we needed to reshoot the entire scene, to maintain continuity. Because we had already filmed it all, we knew what we needed to do and so made few mistakes, hence making the second attempt at filming much easier.

Editing
It took several attempts to finally get the footage onto the computer and into Imovie. This wasted a great deal of time and meant that our schedule was pushed back. However, it only took half an hour to edit the entire sequence together. We had experience on Imovie and so we were able to use the program efficiently and effectively. A large proportion of the scene appeared to be edited together already and so it was merely a case of clipping parts of the footage and adding transitions and credits. We previously had an account and so we also uploaded the video onto youtube easily.

How well do we think we fulfilled the task?
Sticking to the 180 degree rule-
we used the 180 degree rule when the interview itself was taking place. We had previously researched what the rule was and so we had a clear understanding of what we needed to do. This means we were able to shoot footage that conformed to the rule easily.
Match on action-
As the interviewer opens the door, we had sound that matches the action, and we also then followed the shot with a shot of the door fully being opened and so the sequence flowed well and was realistic
Shot reverse shot-
we used the interview story line to our advantage, we knew that in interviews the conversation is structured and people are not often interrupted. This meant the shot reverse shot was easily structured and the conversation was minimal.
