Details and plan of film opening

Synopsis
Two friends join a new college. A girl considered popular by western terms and a girl considered “geeky” are friends outside of college
ln college, it appears the popular girl ignores her friend and chooses to abandon their friendship.
A new “hot” boy joins college and both of the girls fight for his attention
Geek girl gets makeover and is no longer considered to be ”geeky” or uncool
She forms a relationship with boy and is now considered the popular girl.
She terminates the relationship because she feels he is a “player” and she feels he has cheated on her.
Thus he attempts to pursue the other girl
“Geeky” girl attempts to warn the other girl as to how the boy is not nice and how horrible he is
They have an argument
She realises that she was right and that he isn’t as amazing as she originally thought
Friendship restored
They both seek revenge, work as a team to humiliate the boy.

Detailed description of film opening
A typical scene of a girl’s bedroom getting ready for school
Popular girl getting ready for college- putting all their makeup on
Geeky girl gets up late- doesn’t look in the mirror
Hallway, one scoops up a designer bag and the other scoops up a dirty rucksack
Both come out the door at the same time, walk across the garden
We don’t see their faces until they meet
Some sort of handshake
They walk off together
We can see them talking
Cuts to scene at bottom of road- group of friends gossiping
They all see a ‘hot’ new guy and he asks where the reception is
Group continue gossiping and talk about this new guy
See Jess walking down road and call her
Popular girls face expression changes and pushes the geeky girl into a bush
Loads of girls turn around to look

Script
Scene 1
Emma: “oh my god- have you got your essay for English?! Mine took the mick!”
Jessica: “ as if, I haven't even started it, I’ll just hand it in tomorrow, she wont mind. I couldn’t miss Jordan and Peter last night!”
Emma: “Yeah but Jordan and peter wont get you you’re a level”
Jessica: “yes they will- she's an inspiration, she proper clever. You know I want to be a glamour model”
Emma: “well I plan on using my brain to get my a levels”
Jessica: “yeah well I plan on using my tits!”
Scene 2
Girl 1: “ oh my god did you see Jordan and Peter last night?!”
Girl 2: “ ohh she is amazing- my idol”
Girl 1: “yeah but he is fit”
Girl 3: “oooo 11 oclock”
Girl 1: “ no its half 8!”
Girl 3 :” no look at 11 o’clock”
JJ: “excuse me could you point me in the direction of the main recpetion please?”
Girls giggle
Girl 2: “yeah I’ll point you in any direction!”
Girl 3 “ yeah its just down the drive and to your right”
Scene 3
Girl 3: “ Jess, Jess!!”
Emma pushed into bushes
Girl 2: “look down the road!”
Jessica: “ nice arse- who the hell is it?”


Conforming to conventions
Settings- we have chosen to shoot our scenes outside a school, in the characters bedrooms and down an ordinary street. This conforms to comedy conventions by using everyday and relatable settings. This helps keep a sense of relate ability and so creates verisimilitude
Familiar and relatable activities- getting ready for school
Issues- social relations
Costume to illustrate character types-uses American stereotypes because its clear that America teen comedies are popular with British teens and so they should be able to identify the characters easily
